Built in 1903 by manager nad producer David Frohman, it was purchased in 1940 by a conglomerate of producers which included George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. In 1950, the Shuberts took ownership of the theatre, and have operated it ever since.

Oh, Mary! at the Lyceum

Oh, Mary!

Oh, Mary! stars Cole Escola as Mary Todd Lincoln, famous first lady and widow. Here we see her in the lead-up to Lincoln’s assassination as she struggles with alcoholism and dreams of becoming a cabaret star. Time Out New York gave it a 5-star review and said, “Cole Escola’s gleefully irreverent comedy is the funniest play in years…Oh, Mary! is not just funny: it is dizzyingly, breathtakingly funny, the kind of funny that ambushes your body into uncontained laughter.” The cast includes: Cole Escola, Conrad Ricamora, James Scully, Bianca Leigh, and Tony Macht.
